Abstract (in English)

While in Colombia has not begun the process to implement policies or even his discovery, there is an international scale, a complex of groups (ARAR, CAR CIARU SIARB, CAMUNO, etc.), institutions with experiences years ago registration, study and conservation of rock art areas in their respective countries. The Congress of Americanists, WAC meetings, meetings of the teams organized by the International Federation (IFRA), symposia dedicated specifically to the study of rock art, as well as specialized permanent forums on the subject on the Internet and web50 pages produced in different countries show the highest development, in contrast to the precarious situation in which these events are in our country. However, as an independent group has addressed the issue GIPRI Colombian rock since 1970. Since that time, has developed various activities in order to document, study and protect this heritage. Participation in various national and international forums, the documentation in some areas officially supported the publication of the magazine ROCK (Rock Art in Colombia), presenting the work of this group in other publications and exposure of materials in some events, allow for an image with the continuing research in this specialized field. The chair was founded en199055 rock at the National University has been working as professor at various universities, with some visible consequences. They have conducted two theses on the subject and have been educating researchers are a group basis, which is projected to begin in the coming years NATIONAL RESEARCH IN ROCK ART. Currently developing a systematic project in the Municipality of The College (sponsored by the Mayor of the Municipality), and a methodological model for recording rock art in the country (sponsored by the Ministry of Culture as a research grant).
