Abstract (in English)

Planning for heritage tourism first requires answering a number of questions concerning the social use of properties in order to achieve a concrete proposal. The chrono-topical relationship is a significant experience granting access to knowledge and visibility as well as the length of resources. The teaching/learning relationship, as part of an informal educational framework which we will call the ‘Exhibition Concept', was taken into account to enhance heritage properties which intrinsically support identity issues and the notion of belonging. All decisions made toward the enhancement of the missionary printing works of Santa Maria La Mayor (an unusual company which used to express and spread the Guaraní Jesuit culture) have strongly emphasised the importance of their former cultural impact. The option that was chosen for the production of this heritage is part of a vast scope of possibilities for the promotion of heritage. The intervention strategy is based on the interpretation of heritage, which also helps define the policy for tourism development. We therefore used the concept of interpretation as a starting point: to inform, explain and make accessible the meaning of heritage in order to generate a unifying effect which turns into an act of communication. This strategy can allow a previously unknown heritage object to be seen and understood. It also helps to approach with a point of view substantiated with new hypotheses and content. The project proposal has taken several directions which can open up, in a given time, to new local economic opportunities.
