Abstract (in English)

Proper regard for an original work will mean that its restoration must be followed by recording of any alterations resulting from the measures taken to preserve it, however trivial. In this way the authenticity of our cultural heritage can be guaranteed by the possibility not only of inspecting works that have been restored but also of consulting the records provided. The author sets out to show how these requirements of present-day conservation doctrine may, practically speaking, be met by multidisciplinary systems for collecting, processing and circulating information which are in line with the methods used for executing the original works of art.
