In the course of time the city was repopulated but its characteristics and socioeconomic functions are significantly different from the originals. Currently the city faces different problems derived from the abandonment period, from the emergence of political and economic interests, from the population and urban development, and from the demand and tourist affluence. Also, the management model used to date has not been adequate due to the ineffectiveness of existing protective legislation and legislative gaps, all of the above has affected the conservation of the city, the cultural landscape and its relationship with the environment.
