"From two ostensibly different projects, executed at the end of twentieth century in France, I would like to bring out the guidelines, the theorical and doctrinal questions of the field of preservation and restoration of historical monuments. The article also addresses issues such as : reuse of historical monuments (HM) and of sacred architecture, the revesibility of restoration work, creation and heritage, the question of sacred art. The first example is one project led by architect Pascal Prunet (Chief Architect of Historical Monuments - CAHM) related to the construction of a museum space in a former dormitory of a Romanesque Abbey in Vendée, France. The second example deals with the debates and the artist’s creative approach Jean Ricardon who faces the challenge of creating new stained glass windows in the Cistercian Abbey of Acey."^^ .
