abstractBy reading the Charts adopted by Institutions related to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, 1946), two subjects emerge which are becoming more and more important: the attention to local cultural values and the interest in environmental contexts. In fact, this trend may be considered as a real cultural strategy, that allows creating politics of valorization and management of local cultural heritage also in countries having almost no ancient excellent architecture, but rich in deep-rooted ethnic values and real environmental treasures. This may be stated of Sub-Saharan Africa, interested in these years by the great Africa 2009 Programme: an ambitious program, though honestly concrete, aiming at the institutional management of the environmental heritage in Dark Africa countries, based on their new consciousness of the values of local traditions and of their own environment.
