Abstract (in English)

This paper proposes the recognition of an ancient site, built following the Art Building tradition, which dates from the fourth century and has been neglected since the tenth century: "Los campos de cultivo pre-Hispánicos bajo del San Jorge" (Parsons, 1967). Ignoring the traditional landscaping of canals and terraces has lead to canals silting up and extensive flood cycles. The 5600 km2 site needs to be protected, by transforming the region and the Ransar marshlands into a National Park. This threat can also be taken as an opportunity to repopulate the area with a new economic model inspired by the Zenu.
