Abstract (in English)

This publication provides recommendations on how the qualities of post-war areas can be used in transformation assignments. Half a century after the reconstruction period, the post-war areas have reached maturity on the one hand, but at the same time we must conclude that the world has changed. Almost without exception, the post-war areas are currently the subject of larger or smaller transformation assignments. This publication shows how the existing qualities can be used. Current themes are discussed, such as the sustainability of the existing housing stock, home improvement, the revitalization of post-war shopping strips, care in the neighborhood, the quality of post-war schools and the importance of green in the city. This publication is for policy makers, designers, heritage professionals and others who have to deal with transformation tasks in reconstruction areas.
