Abstract (in English)

Throughout its long history, Georgia - a country with a clearly defined national creative vision and traditions - has periodically been influenced by the cultures of its neighboring countries and conquerors, which was reflected to varying degrees in its way of life, as well as in architecture and various fields of art. These influences were certainly non-uniform, and at the same time, as they would adapt to the new soil, they would merge with the local traditions and evolve into distinctive artistic forms. In Georgia, the construction of buildings intended as baths has a long history. Existence of bathhouses in the country in the ancient period has been archeologically confirmed, and medieval examples of buildings of this type survive to this day. Islamic baths in Georgia are classified as a separate group. This architectural theme was brought into the country from outside its borders. As is known, there are regional differences between these types of buildings even among the countries of the Islamic world. Differences are also evident between the historical regions of Georgia and were determined by the local building traditions, materials and workmanship.
