From the presentation of recent findings of cave paintings in the Sabana de Bogotá, it is proposed to reconsider the traditional presumption that the cave art of the region was a pre-Hispanic pictorial expression, mostly embodied in red ocher monochrome panels; but rather, on the contrary, they could have been made up of rich polychromies (in yellow, black, white, etc.) today lost, to a large extent, due to differential conservation effects between the paints used.
A partir de la presentación de recientes hallazgos de pinturas rupestres en la Sabana de Bogotá, se propone replantear la tradicional presunción de que el arte rupestre de la región fue una expresión pictórica prehispánica, plasmada en su mayoría en paneles monocromáticos de rojo ocre; sino que por el contrario pudieron haber estado conformados por ricas policromías (en amarillo, negro, blanco, etc.) hoy día perdidas, en gran medida, por efectos de conservación diferencial entre las pinturas utilizadas.
