Internationale Fachtagung des Deutschen Nationalkomitees von ICOMOS und des Landesdenkmalamts Berlin mit der Initiative Kerberos in der Berlinischen Galerie – Museum für moderne Kunst, 20. – 23. Februar 2019. - With 21 contributions, this publication documents the international conference “Underground Architecture Revisited”, which was organised by ICOMOS Germany and the Berlin Monument Authority together with the “Kerberos Initiative”, and held at the Berlinische Galerie from 20 to 23 February 2019. The conference focused on the young architectural heritage of post-war underground stations, comparing them Europe-wide. The aim of the event, which was conceived as a follow-up contribution to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, was the cross-border exchange of experience among heritage experts in modern architecture and modern transport infrastructure, but also the dialogue with operators, passengers and the interested public regarding mobility requirements for tomorrow’s intelligent metropolitan transport. The cooperation of the organisers with other partners of building and monument culture and the combination of a scientific conference with exhibitions, guided tours, excursions, interviews, and other activities for interested citizens were constitutive components of the conference concept. International conference of the German National Committee of ICOMOS and the Berlin Monument Authority with the Initiative Kerberos at the Berlinische Galerie – Museum of Modern Art, 20 – 23 February 2019. - Die vorliegende Publikation dokumentiert mit 21 Beiträgen die internationale Tagung „Underground Architecture Revisited“, die vom 20. bis 23. Februar 2019 von ICOMOS Deutschland und dem Landesdenkmalamt Berlin mit der „Initiative Kerberos“ in der Berlinischen Galerie veranstaltet wurde. Im Zentrum der Tagung stand das junge bauliche Erbe der Untergrundbahnhöfe der Nachkriegszeit im europäischen Vergleich. Ziel der als Folgebeitrag zum Europäischen Kulturerbejahr 2018 konzipierten Veranstaltung war der grenzüberschreitende Erfahrungsaustausch von Denkmalexperten der modernen Architektur und modernen Verkehrsinfrastruktur, aber auch der Dialog mit Betreibern, Fahrgästen und der interessierten Öffentlichkeit über Mobilitätsanforderungen an einen intelligenten Großstadtverkehr von morgen. Die Kooperation der Veranstalter mit weiteren Partnern der Bau- und Denkmalkultur und die Verknüpfung einer wissenschaftlichen Fachkonferenz mit Ausstellungen, Führungen, Rundfahrten, Interviews und anderen Aktivitäten für interessierte Bürger waren konstituierende Bestandteile des Tagungskonzepts.
