Résumé (en anglais)

The historical city is a manuscript difficult to read because the bad conditions of the preservation often cancel important traces for its understanding. The city of Akko, in Israel, is a different case. Akko is an authentic whole of city experiences. In fact, people that followed one after the other left their signatures and their transformations. This cultural richness made the historical center of Akko one of the historical site included in the Unesco “world-wide patrimony of the humanity”. From 1990 important archaeological jobs and the preservation of ancient monumental structures have started. Today these jobs are carried out under the control of the Old Acre Development Company of Akko.
