Abstract (in English)
The author examines the case of Mexican historical cities and their approach to 20th and 21st centuries architectural heritage. The study claims that cultural tourism and urbanism must and can coexist when heritage preservation is at stake.
Conserver non seulement les monuments mais le contexte urbain, permet de compter avec un bon nombre de constructions viables pour le tourisme. En plus, les nouveaux projets, quand ils se montrent avec un langage contemporain et respectueux, favorisent l´ensemble urbain. Ce travail vise a étudier les villes historiques mexicaines et leur relation avec l´architecture du XXème siècle, et même du XXIème, pour offrir des solutions valables au tourisme et ses installations.
