Abstract (in English)

This colloquy held at the "Ecole des Ingénieurs des Travaux Publics de l'Etat" was the first international meeting organised under the auspices of the Council of Europe, on the subject of the industrial heritage, jointly with the French committee of ICOMOS. This book does not include the reports of the colloquy as such, which were published by the Council of Europe. It comes as a useful complement, with aptly commented photographs in illustrating its themes: to reflect on advisable specific preservation mechanisms and related responsibilities and to place industrial heritage problems in the context of European cultural heritage policies

Ce colloque tenu à l'Ecole des Ingénieurs des Travaux Publics de l'Etat constituait la première rencontre internationale organisée sous les auspices du Conseil de l'Europe, sur le thème du patrimoine industriel, en collaboration avec la section française de l'ICOMOS. Ce cahier ne comprend pas à proprement parler les actes de ce colloque, publiés par le Conseil de l'Europe, il les complète utilement et à l'aide de photographies commentées en illustre les thèmes: réfléchir à ce que pourraient être les mécanismes de protections spécifiques et les responsabilités diverses, et situer les problèmes du patrimoine industriel dans le contexte des politiques du patrimoine culturel européen.
