Abstract (in English)

Peter Derer points out the need for achieving a complex balance between economic development and conservation of the cultural heritage. Till such time as architects reconcile the relationship between urban development and the cultural heritage, he stresses the need for; and correct application of a conservation law. Such a law, he says, will help to over come the radical urbanist ideology of totalitarianism.
