Abstract (in English)

The two copies of the Treatise on Architecture by Alvise Cornaro were found in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan and published by Giuseppe Fiocco in 1952. More recently, authoritative art historians have dated the writings between 1550 and 1556. The repeated observations of the places and the measurements on the architectures performed by the author prove that the architectural treatise was conceived by Alvise Cornaro as a diary of the construction works of his new palace in Padua and reveal, at the same time, the architectural project of the architect Giovanni Maria Falconetto.
