This field manual was created by the Technical Development Corporation (Corporación de Desarollo Técnico) within the "Public Goods Competition for Innovation and Capacity Building for Reconstruction 2010", promoted by CORFO's InnovaChile. It has been elaborated by the JEGG Architecture Studio with the participation of a committee of professional experts, who established criteria for the correct identification of the different traditional construction systems and the evaluation of the most common damages suffered by raw earth buildings. The work also made it possible to provide a series of general solutions that make it possible to tackle practically any restoration or reconstruction project with raw earth, making this manual a practical tool for both construction professionals and anyone interested in preserving architectural heritage.
Este manual de terreno ha sido desarrollado por la Corporación de Desarollo Técnico en el marco del “Concurso Bienes Públicos para la Innovación y Fortalecimiento de Capacidades para la Reconstrucción 2010”, impulsado por InnovaChile de CORFO. Ha sido elaborado por el Estudio de Arquitectura JEGG con la participación de un comité de profesionales expertos, quienes establecieron criterios para la correcta identifi cación de los distintos sistemas constructivos tradicionales y la evaluación de los daños más comunes sufridos por las edifi caciones de tierra cruda. El trabajo posibilitó también, entregar una serie de soluciones generales que permiten abordar prácticamente cualquier proyecto de restauración o reconstrucción con tierra cruda, convirtiendo este manual en una herramienta práctica, tanto para profesionales de la construcción, como para cualquier interesado en preservar el patrimonio arquitectónico.
