Abstract (in English)

The diffusion of Ottoman architecture in the Balkans is closely tied to its emergence. As the centuries have gone by, a rich patrimony has been set up in which one can admire the splendour of the Empire in parallel with its provincial dimension. The author lists, country by country, the Ottoman buildings. Damaged by nationalist ideologies that sustained the founding of nation-states in the peninsula, this rich patrimony has been so systematic[al]ly disclaimed in the accepted cultural heritage, that he has been often/sometimes destroyed until nowadays, in the strained climate of new Balkan conflicts.
