Abstract (in English)

Ecuador is a South American country that was part of the Tahuantinsuyu. Nevertheless, country's cultural heritage is rich, extensive occupation. In the highlands, hunting, fishing and gathering began 30000 years ago; property 6000 years ago in the western lowlands. Along the country we can see three recognisable sections: coast, highlands and Amazonia. In the highlands -the highest- transversal mountains form small valleys. Generally, these are crossed by rivers from which the first one takes its name.
