Abstract (in English)

During the Second World War 40% of the old city of Rothenburg was destroyed, mainly the craftsmen's and lower middle class housing around the Galgentor. 306 houses were completely destroyed and 52 partly, not to mention 6 official buildings, some 750m of the medieval town wall with several towers, and 5 bridges.
