Abstract (in English)

The historic phenomenon that is known in Spain with the name of 'mudéjar' is a remarkable example of the survival of a previous culture able to condition another one imposed by History . The word 'mudéjar' name the islamic population and their own culture which lasted long in different christian kingdoms which composed the peninsula after the 'Reconquista'. Two different architectcnic styles met together,one of them ccoming from the new christian world and the other from the pre-existent islamic culture, which caused unique and extraordinary artistic creations in Spain.
