Abstract (in English)
The Columbia River Scenic Highway, built over a ten-year period (1913-1922) at the beginning of the automobile age, was an engineering and civic achievement of its time. Located on the south side of the Columbia River, the area of focus begins at the Sandy River near Troutdale, Oregon and continues to Chenoweth Creek near The Dalles city limits. Within this area lie 55.0 miles of the original 73.8 mile Columbia Riyer Scenic Highway.
