Abstract (in English)
The 1976 ICOMOS Cultural Tourism Charter was adopted as the result of the International Seminar on Contemporary Tourism and Humanism held in Brussels the 8th and 9th November of 1976. It can be considered the first international document focused on the need for a responsible tourist approach to cultural heritage and it also anticipated the recognition of sites and monuments as a source of economic benefit and cultural education.
La Carta del turismo cultural de ICOMOS de 1976 fue adoptada como resultado del Seminario internacional sobre turismo contemporáneo y humanismo, celebrado en Bruselas los días 8 y 9 de noviembre de 1976. Puede considerarse el primer documento internacional centrado en la necesidad de un enfoque turístico responsable del patrimonio cultural y también anticipaba el reconocimiento de los sitios y monumentos como fuente de beneficio económico y educación cultural.
