Abstract (in English)
Svaneti situated on the south slopes of the Caucasian Range is a strikimgly beautiful part of the Georgian highlands and a genuine treasury of art, with its original architecture, remarkable samples of monumental painting, icon-paintiDg, chasing, wood-carving. Extremely interesting monuments of architecture of Svaneti cover over 200 towers, 196 churches with fresco paintings of IX-XIII centures A.D., over 400 ancient dwelling complexes.
