Abstract (in English)

Archaeological heritage management has since the beginning been of vital concern to the work of ICOMOS. Till now the major interest has been devoted to preservation of and care for the impressive monuments which are or have been threatened by normal destruction or by lack of understanding and necessary financial funding. In accordance with ICOMOS decision to increase its efforts within the archaeological field it has become a matter of concern to try to formulate a policy covering archaeological heritage management on the whole.
