Paper presented during the ICLAFI – ICUCH Symposium, 29th June – 1st July 2017, Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands Amersfoort, The Netherlands This paper presents a history of USA national legislation on maritime heritage, maritime zones, an explanation of the existing tools and the relationship with the international legislation.
